Spotlight on T-TAP's CRP Leadership Network

Don Lavin is the Vice President of RISE, Inc. and a member of T-TAP's CRP Leadership Network! RISE is a non-profit corporation that specializes in customized employment for unemployed and underemployed youth and adults with varied disabilities and employment challenges in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Don is the CRP mentor to Coastal Center for Developmental Services, a T-TAP Technical Assistance site. Recently, Don and his RISE coworker, Nancy Hoff, visited Coastal Center to provide technical assistance. He has written a summary of this visit, sharing their observations with T-TAP. Who is the CRP Leadership Network?

A core group of providers are in the Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) leadership network. This group of providers are recognized for either having converted their programs from 14 c certificates or have made substantial gains in doing so. T-TAP held a focus group meeting on January 30, 2003 in Arlington, Virginia bringing together the project's CRPs to discuss the barriers and strategies for competitive employment.

Summary of the Focus Group Meeting

The CRP Leadership Network includes the following providers. Each agency provides a summary of their program and contact information. In addition, there are examples of strategies that they have used to address barriers to competitive employment at the organizational level and the individual level.
