Chinese notaries use blockchain

Thousands of cases have already been handled this way.

Since its launch in January, 40 companies have used Shanghai’s blockchain-powered notary platform and processed over 3,000 cases

According to Jiemian , the „Hui Cun“ platform (which is administered by the Shanghai Notary’s Office Xuhui) is a blockchain-based electronic data storage protocol that offers notarial certification. It stores images, videos and screen recordings on the platform using a Bitcoin Up blockchain network . These files can then be used in litigation.

The Shanghai notary’s office Xuhui says the platform enables the transparent preservation of evidence and reduces the costs for notarizations by an average of 44 percent.

Pan Hao, director of Xuhui’s notary’s office, commented:

„With its authenticity guaranteed, the electronic evidence stored on the Hui Cun platform provides a platform for the court to promote the use of new technologies in the taking of evidence, verifying and researching the authenticity of evidence, and intellectual disputes To solve property. “
In June, Suzhou authorities also announced a blockchain-powered pilot program to provide notary services to the region. The program is designed to provide millions of citizens with access to legal and government agencies over the Internet. It offers services related to personal freedom, life, health, property rights and more.
